Conflict & War photographers

There is word that two conflict/war photographers have died in Libya today. I don’t know these men. As I sit here every day thinking…planning…to become a “real” photographer and writer…thinking I find stories that need to be told, I wonder how far would I go? I am a coward. So many journalists are under attack these days. So many are embedded in war zones and put their lives at risk to capture moments for the rest of us. And sometimes they die. They are killed.

Here are the last Twitter words of Tim Hetherington:

“In besieged Libyan city of Misrata. Indiscriminate shelling by Qaddafi forces. No sign of NATO.”

Razor sharp and judicious. Chilling.

Awaiting word on the fate of Chris Hondros.
